Roundup of MLLA # 30 event

Hello friends,

Firstly, I would like to thank Susan for letting me host MLLA # 30 for December 2010.

I think I already blabbered enough about how much MLLA event surprises me every month. I mean it is a monthly event that has been running for 30 months (2.5 years) and still every month’s roundup is mind-blowing. I could not believe when emails with entries started pouring in. I have received a whopping 94 entries for this event. Isn’t that amazing? And, what is even more amazing is that except for countable entries (4 or 5), every entry was actually posted in December, so a few very few archived entries, which is even more amazing. I am going to cherish and enjoy each and every one of these recipes as all are in my zone, I mean pure vegetarians J

So, without any delays, here is the much awaited delicious roundup of MLLA # 30. If I have missed anyone's entries by mistake, please do drop me an email or leave a comment here. I apologize for that in advance.

  1. Winner chooses any cookbook or food-related book from Amazon U.S. valued at not more than 15USD for the book itself.  This prize is offered by Susan at her expense and she will also absorb worldwide shipping charges.  F.T.C. Notice: Susan does not receive any compensation from Amazon.
  2. Hurst Bean Box - A case of six bags of the winner's choice of Hurst Bean products, suitable for every diet, sponsored by Hurst Bean. (Due to shipping restrictions, this prize can only be awarded if the winner is a U.S. resident.) F.T.C. Notice: In May 2010, Susan, at her request, received two Hurst Bean complimentary products which are not available for purchase in her local markets. Susan does not generally accept free products from Hurst Bean nor is she financially compensated by them.
  3. Drawing Structure - If the winner is a U.S. resident, she/he will be the recipient of both Prizes 1 and 2 above.  In the event that an international winner is drawn, a second drawing will be conducted from the U.S. pool of entrants to ensure that the Hurst Prize is awarded every month.  In these instances, the international winner will receive the book, and the U.S. winner will receive the Hurst Prize.

OK, so, want to know who won both? Drum-rolls please :)

Congratulations Harini-Jaya from Tamalapaku for your winning Chana-Palak recipe. Susan will be contacting your shortly.

Whew!!! I am tired now… lol. But, before I forget, Simona of Briciole is now hosting MLLA for January 2011.

That’s all for now. Take care till next post.

Roundup of A.W.E.D. - Vietnam Event

Hello friends,

It is amazing sometimes to look back and realize how time flies. We were all I guess eager waiting for 2011 to start (or may not wanting 2010 to finish, whichever way), time flies and here we were in the first month of 2011 and it is already 3rd of the month. New year, new goals, new expectations, new strategies to live life, new adventures, everything is new but us. We are the same old, actually literally older than what we were in 2010. Sorry for blabbering there, but just felt like writing it out there in open.

I will be presenting 2 roundups for 2 events that my blog had held: MLLA # 30 and A.W.E.D. – Vietnam.

Here is the first one in the series for a wonderful event which encourages us to prepare international cuisine, called A.W.E.D. – Vietnam, started by DK and this month was hosted by my blog.
I received a total of 15 entries and I was amazed at all delicious recipes. Thanks to everyone who participated in this event from the bottom of my heart and most of all, thanks to DK for letting me host it second time. Here was the first A.W.E.D. – Spain.

Here is the delicious roundup :)

Gayathri Kumar from Gayathri's Cook Spot sent Vietnamese Baguette/Banh Mi Tay and

Vidhya from Sugar'N Spice sent Che Chuoi

Roundup for MLLA # 30 will be here soon :)

That’s all for now. Take care till next post.

Remember, you will have to post that recipe on Tuesday, 4th January 2011 and no archived or past recipes are allowed to be entered in this event. You can make that recipe any date or time, but it has be posted on Tuesday. Hope that is clear :)

Important Note: The recipe has to be from another source (blog, magazine, friend, noted from somewhere in your diary etc.) and importantly as this is a vegetarian blog, it has to be a vegetarian recipe, no kind of meat allowed. Eggs are allowed, but only in baking.
