I have had this bookmarked for a while now and I got to make it last week and post it today. Seyal Maani - सेयल मानी (Indian Flat Bread Cooked in Spices). I have to use the description that Vaishali used as that is the best you can describe it. Maani is chapatti or fulka. Seyal Maani is chapattis mixed with herbs and tomatoes,made a little mushy and served for breakfast in Sindhi homes.
As she has mentioned in her post, this is usually made for breakfast, but I made it for dinner and it was a hit. I served it with little bit of plain dahi as it already has enough spices, so we need something to cool it down. My hubby, who is usually a critique of most of the dishes, really liked it and appreciated it without being asked to ... lol
The herb mix was so aromatic, spicy and a refreshing taste in mouth. Take a look at this tempting pic and run over heels to Vaishali's post and re-create this deliciousness. Thansk Vaishali, this is going to be a frequent in my house with leftover rotis (Indian Flat Bread cooked without oil).

ReplyDeleteas a kid we use to love this...my mom grandmom use to add little leftover plain dal along with chapatis,herbs,spices n tomatoes.and @ the end she used to give a bhaghar/tadka og ghee n jeera with curry leaves..n we use to simply love it and ask her to make even with fresh phulkas....

ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of what we call 'Namkeen Kawe', frequently made by my mom and also by me these days, just that instead of tomatoes we add onion, potatoes and spices only.
