Sanja - A Semolina Savory Pudding with Buttermilk - From Sayali's Blog

Hello friends,

It is so nice to post a real recipe after about 6 weeks' break of not posting anything.

I also wanted to share and brag about a giveaway that I won, lol. It was organized by Food Lovers and I happen to win it. Thanks dear for such wonderful gift. We are all loving it :)

Today, I have an unusual upma (Savory Semolina Pudding) recipe which involves adding buttermilk in the recipe instead of plain water. She says, Sanja is a marathi word and she learnt it herself from her mother in law. Please do visit her blog for this delicious recipe and many more like this from her.

This is a recipe I had bookmarked from Sayali's Blog since May 2010, i.e., when she had posted it. I loved it right away, so thought of making it today. It had a very different taste from regular upma in a good way. Loved the slight tangy taste of buttermilk in it. Loved the color and everything about it.

This goes towards Aipi and my event of Bookmarked Recipes - Every Tuesday - Volume 17

This also goes towards Hearth and Soul Hop - Volume 24.

That's all for now. Take care till next post.

  4. Sanja sounds delicious... like the use of buttermilk.. actually between hubby and I we are split between sweet and savory and I have seen very few savory puddings around so I guess this works great for me :)
    Congrats on the win!
