Double Ka Meetha - Bread का मीठा (Indian Bread Pudding)

Hello friends,

Here is another one of my Tried & Tasted. This time it is from DB (my blogger friend Daisy Blue). The moment I saw it in her blog in March, I knew I had to make it.

Double Ka Meetha - Double का मीठा (Indian Bread Pudding)

I followed her recipe almost exactly like what she said, so, I am not going to type it out here. Please visit her blog to check out the recipe and her pics. She has an amazing collection, please check her other recipes too.

I did 2 things different from what she mentioned. She asked to let the bread slices get sun dried. But, it is my luck that I planned to make it today and it was overcast (very very gloomy), so I ended up toasting my breads in toaster and then frying, I do not know how much that might have changed the taste, but as I haven't tasted the sun dried version, for me, it was a delicious dessert :)

Second thing I did different was using sweet bread. Actually, there is another story behind it. Over the weekend, my husband picked up sweet bread instead of regular one. I guess he was just in hurry and didn't see properly. He ate 3-4 slices, but didn't want to eat more of that sweet bread for breakfast, so I used up that sweet bread for this. Now, as I used sweet bread, I reduced the sugar amount by half and the result was perfect in sweetness.

Thank you so much Daisy for this mouth watering recipe, my husband and I both loved it and will surely keep making it for desserts. It was very quick too, and not much hassle as well :)

I am sending this to Bread Mania event of Chaitra.

That's all for now. Take care till next post.

Double ka meetha looks awesome and tempting, btw regarding ur q'n about tabbouleh, u can replace the parsley leaves with cilantro, for veggies u can go for carrots or either avocados..also for the hibiscus punch, i went for dry hibiscus flower which got through some of my African friends..If u get the fresh flowers, dry them in sun and use it..hope this helps..
