When I had announced my Veggie/Fruit A Month - Avocado event, my main goal was to be able to select a fruit/veggie a month (as the name suggests) which we don't normally cook (or at least someone like me doesn't cook) and to be able to adapt that ingredient in day-to-day life. Avocado was one such ingredient, which I had only eaten in Guacamole and had slices in my burger, but that was the extent of it. I knew it is one of the most nutritious fruit we have available to us. And, let me tell you, I am so happy that I picked this ingredient as the recipes I have been seeing floating in the blog world are just the ones that could get anyone who doesn't like or hasn't eaten Avocado will get them inspired :)
Here is my first attempt in trying something other than usual guacamole (which by the way I simply love. I had seen this here looking for avocado recipes. I have modified it to what I thought I would like to taste in it and gave a slight Indian touch to it.
Chocolate Avocado Dessert
Ingredient
For Pudding(Kind of)
Avocados - 2 ripe ones
Mawa (Khoya) - 3/4 cup
Heavy Cream - 3/4 cup
Chocolate - 3/4 ,cup melted (I used semi-sweet, but feel free to use any kind that you like)
Maple Syrup - 2 tbsp
Brown Sugar - 2 tbsp
Vanilla - 1tsp
For Garnishing
Chocolate Fudge - per your liking
Whipped Cream
Preparation
- Blend Everything under "For Pudding" well till everything is smooth.
- Chill it little in fridge (don't chill too much or chocolate will harden).
- Scoop it in the bowl/cup/glass you would like to serve it in and pour desired amount of fudge and top it with whipped cream (I ran out of heavy cream, so used little vanilla yogurt, which also tasted good).
Serving
As the original recipe says, this can be eaten alone, in a pie shell, or layered individual dishes with whipped topping and or fruit.
I can say one thing, no one will know that it has avocados in it. N couldn't guess for sure and was surprised when I mentioned what went in it :).
That's all for now. Take care till next post.
